Before hitting the road towards Lava Beds, we had to stop and see a few sites in Lassen.
Subway Cave is a lava tube that you can walk in one side and out the other.
Next stop was to enjoy the snow at the trailhead to Lassen Peak.
On our way to Bumpass Hell.
Bumpass Hell is an area with active geothermal pools.
It was hot and stunk to high heaven, but oh so beautiful!
A shady spot to avoid the heat.
Solar powered instrument to track any changes in the mountain. Mt. Lassen hasn't erupted since 1915, but it is still very much an active volcano.
Noah got very good at hammering tent stakes.
Tomato soup for dinner. Yum!
Beautiful sunset.
Silly campfire story.
