A brief glimpse of vacation fun

Don't worry, the blog will be back in full force when we return in August, but for those who just can't wait, here are a few pictures of our vacation so far.

Day 1: Hiking in Golden Gate Park with the Lopezjones clan and Colin, Lieba, and Gavin who were visiting from Arizona.

The reason that a 20 minute hike takes an hour...

Ada walking so nicely with Daddy Quique

Navi covered in food and dirt like a little boy should be.

Ada just covered in dirt...lunch was still to come.

A bad picture of everyone at lunch.  Noah didn't think he should sit with the group.

Day 2: A trip to the Oakland Zoo

Goat brushing

A zookeeper in training

Pointing out the Tue-tle for Daddy

Interesting...

This is one of his most favorite shirts.  The guitar strings are raised so he can "strum" them.

Lilypad hopping

Checking out the brass ants in the ground of the Children's Zoo.

Gavin on the spider web

Pigs!  Noah suprised Mommy by pointing out the "wet" pigs and the "not wet" pigs. Crazy how his little mind works!

More pictures to come...

Not the smiley boy you're used to...

I wanted to take a picture of Noah's new training pants (which he managed to keep dry for 4 hours!), but he was having a minor meltdown because the box wasn't doing what he wanted.

Bubbles!!!!

July 4th

And of course, what is 4th of July without the Hot Dog Eating contest?!  For those who missed it, Joey Chestnut won his 4th competition in a row, although he ate a measly 54 hot dogs and buns.

I love the weather forecast.

A caloric estimate based on Chestnut's results last year.  We met Joey Chestnut once.  We saw him eat in person at the Asparagus Festival in Stockton.  He ate about 8.5 pounds of deep fried asparagus in 10 minutes.  That man is a legend.

Visit with cousins

Noah's cousins Savannah and Kendra came to visit from Oregon so we went for a walk to the park.

Anyone remember the FlowBee?

Odd? Yes.

Noah's Artistic Side

Noah has been OBSESSED with the guitar lately. He just loves playing it. If he hears music on the radio, he'll call it a guitar.

He talks about it constantly and has even started pretending other things are guitars. Things that have been a guitar for Noah: this box from a flag, a flashlight, a wooden duck, the air, a picnic table, the conveyor belt divider at the grocery store checkout line, a small flag...

He also loves to dance. He has quite the variety of spinning/high stepping moves.

Howdy Sheriff!

Noah found this costume in a bag of things from his cousins. He had fun playing with it!
