Day 2--Spelunking we will go!
We took a trip to Black Chasam Cavern for a trip down into the cave. Noah was very excited and wanted to know if we'd see igneous rock or just sedimentary and metamorphic. Too smart for his own good.
Down into the depths.
Why did he decide to wave just at that moment?
Down a little deeper...
This formation is what this cave is known for. These strawlike structures are called helectites and form when moisture is forced through tiny crevices in the rock.
These are roots from an oak tree 60 feet above on the surface.
The antique firetruck in the parking lot was fun as well!
