Meet the Cousins

Samantha got to meet all her Alm/Taylor cousins over the weekend.

 Oldest and youngest cousins together.

The very talented Savannah made this beautiful quilt for her cousin!

 All the cousins together.

Noah and Samantha both fell asleep on Olivia while they were watching the Warriors lose Game 7 of the playoffs.

Do They Look Alike?

Samantha is about a week older than Noah in these pictures, but you can tell that she weighed half a pound more than he did at birth. She's definitely got chunkier cheeks and even her hands and wrists are bigger. Their eyes, eye brows, noses, and mouth shapes are similar, though.

An Important Lesson on Trains

Noah decided that he should teach Samantha about his Thomas trains.

She was a very attentive student!

Project Litter Box

With Samantha's arrival to the family we decided to move the litter box from the now completed nursery.    Although Nutmeg was not thrilled with this Noah was happy to help his dad convert our downstairs closet into a litter box storage complete with cat door and extra storage shelves.

Noah was very helpful with measuring the wood.

The final product compete with litter box.

We decided to put in a new shelf above the laundry while we were at it. All came out well and made the spaces more functional. Great work Noah.

Samantha's First Bath

As suspected Samantha did not enjoy her first bath like we all were hoping she would.  It started off ok.

But it quickly escalated to the worst experience of her life. She was so upset she even pooped in the water. Photo not included.

However, all ended up well and she was clean and happy again once she was back in her warm clothes. We could not get the hair to lay down for a bit so she had a nice sticky uppy look.  Buh!!!

A Trip to Lake Temescal

We decided to avoid traffic and enjoy Lake Temescal in Oakland last week.

 Strawberry Samantha

Noah had a blast fishing for slime.

Samantha was unimpressed.

Noah also had a great time rolling down the hill over and over again.

More Sibling Time

Noah picked out her outfit...

Samantha in the Big Chair!

We did it with Noah, so now it's Samantha's turn for the big chair pictures each month.

2 Days Old

Big Brother

Noah has been super excited to meet his little sister. Olivia woke him up Saturday morning saying that his little sister wanted to meet him today. His first question was if it was May 4th already!  Because of the time of day that she was born and the visiting hours at the hospital, Samantha and Noah didn't meet until the next day which happened to be
Easter Sunday.

Very very proud big brother.

He was so excited that she held his finger.

We were released from the hospital late Sunday night, but big brother Noah was anxiously waiting to welcome his sister home.

Here's Noah comforting his fussy sister about two minutes after she got out of her car seat. He's been a great helper and has even read Samantha some stories that he's been working on learned to read. It's fantastic to watch.

Introducing Samantha!!

Olivia woke up at 4am Saturday morning and quickly realized that even though baby wasn't due until May 4th, obviously baby didn't want to wait because her water had broken!

Ready to head to the hospital.

We got checked in around 8:30am and got things going. Strong contractions started around 10 and Samantha Larkin Alm was born at 6:18pm on Satueday, April 19th after very very minimal pushing.

Victor got to cut the cord twice. Once right when she was born and then again to trim things up a bit.

Samantha weighed 7lbs 1.6oz and was 18 inches long.

She has about half a pound of cheeks!

More pictures coming soon!
