4 year old checkup

Noah went in for his checkup. He's officially 34 lbs and 39.25 inches tall. 25th percentile all around. No shots this time, but he did have a hearing test which he passed with flying colors. The doctor asked him to write his name an he did a great job. She dated it and stuck it in his file so we can compare next yet. We walked away with a referral to an ENT to look into his raspy "smoker" voice. Other than that, he had a clean bill of health and is as precocious as ever.

Go Fly a Kite!

Noah had one goal for last weekend--to fly a kite.

To the top of a beautiful mustard covered hill we went...

 He was pretending to be some sort of harvester.

 Ooh, purple in a sea of yellow...

 And a ladybug larva!

Oh yeah, kite flying.

 

 We sorta kinda got the kite up.

 A solid two minutes maybe. There just wasn't really enough wind.

While Olivia wound the kite string, Noah decided to explore on his own. See him in the shade of the tree?

Someone wasn't ready for the time change...

Volcano, Shark, Stag Beetle Birthday Party

We asked Noah what theme he wanted for his party and he announced that it would be a volcano, shark, stag beetle birthday. We checked with the party store, but amazingly enough, they didn't have anything meeting that description in stock, so we had to be creative.

Noah loved his gifts.

 We had suprise cousin party crashers come all the way from Oregon.

 I love Markus in the background of this one.

 No kids fell in the pool. That's always a positive.

After the party, we had fun playing with the leftover dry ice.

 The dry ice carbonated the strawberries, so they were fizzy to eat.

 Dry ice in soapy water was great fun.

 A singing spoon. The dry ice made the spoon vibrate.

The Birthday Interview

We had a little celebration at home for Noah on his birthday.

 This delicious chocolate chip blondie was the planned birthday treat.

 This is what Noah decided on instead.

And the birthday interview. We did one last year as well. This could be fun as he gets older.
