A Hike in Redwood

Last weekend, Noah and Olivia went for a hike in Redwood Regional Park with our friend Andrea. We had a great time exploring in the big trees.

Noah of course had to wear his floppy hat.

He got his hands dirty in the creek.

We came across this shelter that someone made in a Redwood grove and Noah had a great time playing in it.

Look Who's Three!

Noah has been under the weather lately, so much so that we had to postpone his birthday party this past weekend. We did manage a more low key evening celebration today, though. Noah picked pizza for dinner and we followed it up with some chocolate cake.

Here's a new tradition we're starting this year: the Birthday Interview. We hope to do it each year to see how things change.

Milk Paint

We had fun the other day playing with milk and food coloring.

After he got over his hands being messy, he had a good time.

We tried mixing colors next. Boy did he want that green!

Imagination

Noah has a fantastic imagination. He makes up stories that his toys enact. Olivia managed to catch a few examples on camera the other day. He mumbles a lot in them because he's narrating the storyline to his toys. He's practically oblivious to what else is going on around him.

The trains are having some sort of conversation with a whole lot of whistling.

The frog was trying to eat the turtle, but the turtle kept escaping.

A Weekend of Fun

Friday, Noah helped make pizza for dinner. Yum!

On Saturday we took a trip to Crab Cove in Alameda to play at the beach. Isn't that what you usually do on the first weekend in February, hang out at the beach? Crazy crazy weather we've been having. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos, we forgot the camera and these are from the phone instead.

Noah had a lot of fun playing with the whales in the visitor's center.

Fun time playing in the sand with Victor.

After a picnic lunch with our friend Andrea, Noah decided to throw around some seaweed. Such fun!

Sunday after church we headed out to Livermore for some Super Bowl fun. Noah has been wanting a "gamer shirt" for some time. Olivia used a shirt from the 99 Cent Store and some iron on transfers to make this one for him.

It took a little time for him to warm up to it, but he absolutely loves it. He wore it Sunday night through Tuesday morning when Olivia finally convinced him that it needed to go into the wash.

It was a very tiring day. When we got home, this was the sight from the driver's seat.

This is from another angle. Great fun. The best part is that Olivia managed to get him into the house, awake enough to visit the potty before bed, and into bed and back asleep instantly! He insisted on keeping the hat on for bed and Olivia wasn't about to argue with a half asleep toddler so she went with it.
